Our Kinabalu Watch has a brown bezel surrounding the clock face which matches the dark brown dial face and light brown leather strap perfectly. The strap is lighter and much more flexible than most of our other watches. Due to this the watch looks more casual than our other watches. The Kinabalu Watch is a different variation of the same style watch as our Congo & Daintree watches
This model is named after The Kinabalu Rainforest on the island of Borneo in Malaysia which it shares with Indonesia. The rainforest shares The Island of Borneo with the highest mountain between the Himalayas and New Guinea named Mount Kinabalu. The island has been subject to an incredible amount of deforestation, habitat destruction, and wildlife poaching.
The island is home to several endangered species but most notably is the Sumatran rhinoceros. Researchers estimate that fewer than 100 Sumatran rhinoceroses are alive. Other endangered species on the island are the borneo pygmy elephant, orangutan, sun bear, slow loris, and clouded leopard.
