Our story began at the beginning of 2017 when we moved to Bali, Indonesia, otherwise known as 'The Island of The Gods'. At the time, we had no idea how long we would stay. But as soon as we stepped off the plane we felt at home, so we stayed. And we decided to recreate our lives there.
We were incredibly inspired from living amongst the Balinese people for the following 2 years. We experienced how working directly with the Balinese to handmake products truly helps support their local communities by providing them with an additional source of revenue, which they use primarily for food and education for their families.
The Balinese are incredibly impoverished, often working full time while only making a few hundred dollars a month. The Gardyn of Earth was founded in order to support these local communities in Bali. It is our mission to increase their quality of life through the amazing products we create together on the island.
The Balinese are master craftsmen. They have spent many generations mastering the art of carving through hand building their elaborate infrastructure as well as their intricate Hindu temples which populate the entire island. The Gardyn of Earth's products are modeled after their ingenuity and complex designs.
It is our dream to blend nature with technology. This seems to be the only sustainable way we can continue thriving on this beautiful planet.
The bamboo, wood, gem stones and abalone you see and feel within our products are grown and sustainably harvested primarily on Bali, as well as other islands within Indonesia.
The natural aesthetic of the earthbound materials used in our handmade products helps you feel grounded and centered in your everyday life.
Our products provide you with a sense of calm and relaxation that is sure to always make you feel connected to Mother Nature. And it is our desire to share this feeling with the world. We hope you enjoy our catalog as much as we enjoyed creating it for you!
