This model is named after The Waipoua Forest on the west coast of New Zealand. The forest is truly unique with it's wide array of ancient kauri trees. This forest is home to Tane Mahuta, the country's largest kauri tree which is approximately 2,000 years old and is still growing. It is 4.4 meters in diameter at the base and 18 meters to the first branch, which is why it's common name is 'The Lord of the Forest'
